THE MOTHER ROSARIO BULLETIN 11

Editorial

I would regard the month of March as a climax of what happened in the month of December during the incarnation. The baby that was born in Bethlehem in poverty and deprivation culminated His mission on the cross after the passion that was humiliating and painful.

After we analyzed why the crucifixion happened we would conclude that perhaps it was the result of ignorance.

Shall we blame the Jewish people? If we do, it is just like blaming St. Paul before the miracle of the conversion happened. Shall we blame Judas Escariot? It is just like blaming the high priest who did not know whom they were crucifying because they were zealous in their strict adherence to the Jewish law. Judas' fault maybe his having committed suicide after the realization of his fault. He could have become Peter who did not despair, but rather who humbly accepted his fault with deep contrition. Shall we blame them? NO. What had happened had to happen. This was so the history of salvation would be fulfilled.

Talking about Mother Rosario and the Congregation, what it is now, has been. If our vision for the Congregation is different perhaps we can achieve our dream by initiating the change which will redound to the common good and the glory of God. Let us be positive in our outlook . The best thing that we can do will be to ask the help of the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom and understanding so that in one way or another we can contribute to the betterment of the Congregation.

Gikan sa Molo, binun-ag Rosario Arroyo,
Pinili kag palangga sang aton Guino-o.
Paghigugma, pagpangamuyo kag pagtuo.
Nangin sadsaran, kag bahin sang kabuhi mo.

Natawo nga yara sa kahamungayaan,
Pero ginpili pangabuhi sa kaimolan
Malulo kag maloly-on ang pamatasan,
Mahugod siya sa pagserbisyo sa tanan.

Simple nga pagpangabuhi ang iya ginpili,
Pagpuasa kag penitensya ginkabuhi
Mapalapnag lang pulong sang Dios nga buhi,
Gintugyan sa Guino-o kalag nga hamili.

Manggaranon kag matinu-ohon ang ginikanan,
Nagdako maayong halimbawa sa kabataan,
Nagsulod siya bilang Madre nga Dominican
Higugma kag alagad sa Dios ang kabangdanan.

Sa mga katawhan handa sa pag-alagad,
Wala kondisyon ang iya pagpanghatag
Duna nga kaalwan sa iya ang manggad
Pagpakasantos nasulat sa iya palad.

Mabakod kag mapag-on ang iya pagtuo,
Maukod nga gintutun-an ni Jesikristo,
Adlaw kag gab-i ang pagsanto rosario
Naging maayong huwaran nga Kristiano.

Una nga Superiora Heneral sang Kongregasyon,
Madre Sayong huwaran sang iya nga tion,
Nagpangabudlay maangkon kabuhing Diosnon,
Kaluwasan himaya iya naagom.

WHEN WE KEEP OUR MIND ON GOD
GOD KEEPS OUR MINDS AT PEACE.

Life and Virtues of Mother Rosario

Mother Rosario's death has many significant implications in the lives of the Sisters and the future of the congregation as well as the lives of those who are concerned and intimately associated with the Congregation.

It is because she is most loved that her memory lingers forever; that the thought of her inspires the Sisters to keep on though the road is rough and thorny; that her voice continues to echo with approval and satisfaction to each Sister who brings honor to the Congregation; that she delights looking at the newly professed Sisters. Her memory inspires and creates an overwhelming joy to the aspirants coming in to join the congregation. -

Mother Rosario's zeal and love for the Congregation and for the souls entrusted to her care will never die out. From up there she looks with love and joy at the successes the congregation achieves. From up there she is most ready to extend an open arm and listening ear to the problems each and every Sister faces. We have the hope and consolation we need in every trial and tribulation. We are assured of enlightened guidance and assistance in our plans and projects. Up there we have a mother who prays for us.

We believe that Mother Rosario's life has affected the lives of the Sisters. Generally the Sisters maintain simplicity and poverty in their life style. These are the virtues Mother Rosario had inculcated among the Sisters. In spite of her wealth and standing in the community she lived a life of deprivation and poverty following the example of the Divine Master. Mother Rosario internalized these virtues as seen in her way of life as a religious. She lived in poverty as seen by her denial of singularity and honor. If we examine her life closely we find she was contented with just being a simple religious absorbed in her union with God. She had no dreams and ambition in life. She disdained honor and publicity. After her death it was discovered that she had very few possessions. This is Mother Rosario's legacy to the Congregation.

Petitions Granted

By: Mrs. Elenita Java 17 Democracia Street Jaro, lloilo City

My daughter Christine and her family were scheduled to come home to Iloilo from England December 27, 2008 to attend the wedding of her brother before they emigrated to Australia .

It was three days before their departure from London airport when they discovered that their reserved paid up ticket for Australia was not booked. The Australian tickets were prerequisite for their departure from London .

My daughter called me up on December 22 asking for help to buy four plane tickets for Australia so that their departure from London airport would be approved. It created tension in me considering time and financial constraints. It was very timely however, that my sister gave me copies of the prayer for Mother Rosario's beatification. I kept on praying using the leaflet that my petition (to be able to buy the tickets for my daughter and her family ) be granted.

I believe that Mother Rosario helped us in this emergency situation. I was able to purchase all tickets on December 23 before my daughter and her family's departure from London .

When my daughter Christine, her husband and their children arrived in NAIA they discovered that all their checked in luggage could not be found. She called me up and requested me to pray that their luggage would be safe because these contained their personal effects to be brought to Australia . Again I asked the intercession of Mother Rosario. Their luggage arrived the following day just in time for their flight to Iloilo from NAIA.

I always thank God for His goodness and blessings to the family and also to Mother Rosario for the immediate response to our urgent needs.

I have distributed the novena prayers for Mother Rosario to my colleagues and friends and I pray that they would also share the blessings of God through the intercession of Mother Rosario. Miracles do happen if you have faith.

I give praise and glory to God for His kindness and compassion.

TESTIMONIES:

1. Constancia Pahanginan
Date of Birth: February 1, 1930 Address: Avancena Street , Molo Iloi lo City

I am very grateful to Mother Rosario. I studied in Beaterio de Molo, a free school founded by Mother Rosario Arroyo. I learned a lot in school. The Sisters were my teachers.

Every morning before we started classes, Mother Rosario used to gather us to pray the rosary. All of us were told to kneel straight and answer the prayers loud. She was very strict with our behavior while praying. I admired Mother Rosario because she was very loving with the children. She was beautiful, gentle and charitable. I pray that she would be beatified so many will know her and follow her example.

2. Sr. Milagros Sustituido, OP
Date of Birth: November 24,1926 Address: Avancena Street , Molo Iloilo City

Mother Rosario was a great lover of the Blessed Virgin. 1 oftentimes saw her going around the corridor bowing her head before the image of the Blessed virgin and praying a Hail Mary.

She was also a lover of the Holy Eucharist. She gathered us novices before the feast of the Holy Eucharist and explained to us how to adore Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

Mother Rosario was very kind, helpful and compassionate. Once, when I fainted in the chapel, she told my Mother Mistress to immediately buy medicine for me.

She was also very charitable and compassionate to the needy and even to the dogs in the convent. When the dogs were sick someone was assigned to take good care of them.

My group had just made the temporary profession when Mother Rosario died. I kissed her hand and I felt she was alive. I am sure Mother Rosario is a Saint. She granted what I asked her in prayer.
