The MRAC Journey
(Mother Rosario Arroyo Commission)
In any beatification process a Postulator is needed to plead for the cause of a servant of God.
Father Samson Silloriquez, OAR was God-sent to us. We knew him when we visited a patient last May 2008. We learned that he worked as a General Postulator in Rome so it was an opportunity for us to ask him how to go about the beatification process. Archbishop Angel Lagdameo of Jaro knowing his expertise in this area, recommended him to us as our Postulator for the cause of beatification of Mother Rosario. Father Sammy accepted our request with the consent of his Master General, Father Javier Guerra Ayala, OAR. He is now coordinating the work in Rome and giving MRAC the necessary instructions to properly carry out the work.
We received the NIHIL OBSTAT (the go-signal for the opening of Diocesan process for the beatification of Mother Rosario) from Rome dated March 14, 2009. Father Sammy obtained it fast for us. Mother Rosario is helping.
Archbishop Angel Lagdameo has already constituted a tribunal to investigate the life and virtues of Mother Rosario that will qualify her to be numbered among the Blessed Ones.
As the Congregation prepares for the formal opening of the process of beatification of Mother Rosario, the members of the tribunal are also making themselves ready to start the work.
We ask you to pray with us that this endeavor —the beatification of Mother Rosario will soon be realized.

LIFE AND VIRTUES OF MOTHER ROSARIO
One of the reasons why Mother Rosario maintained her simplicity and obedience was her imitation of the life and virtues of the BVM. She had attached herself closely to the Mother of God that she also pronounced her fiat in spite of the lure of money and the pleasure of the world.
It could not be denied that with her wealth she could have lived the life of a princess, but she preferred to live in simplicity and obscurity because she had the BVM as her model. Looking at the BVM instead of what money could buy, she willingly gave up her inheritance and left it to her sole heir, the Congregation.
As a Sister she was a symbol of a true religious, humble, obedient, poor and chaste. Although aware that she was the owner of the Beaterio, she subjected herself to obedience while yet an ordinary Sister and when she became a Superior she did not rule it over the Sisters. She maintained her meekness and humility.
The BVM was not worried about the outcome of her FIAT to God. Mother Rosario did not consider the outcome of her giving up of her inheritance to the Congregation. She was moved by her love for God as Mary was. The similarity of her FIAT to that of the BVM was that she selflessly offered her life and love to God without counting the cost as she was inspired by the Holy Spirit.

My mother-in-law, 82 years old, became ill of what the doctors suspected was cancer in the abdomen. In the ultrasound, there was a big growth in her abdomen. She was excreting smelly pus-filled blood, lost her appetite, and was bedridden. We could not sleep at night because she was constantly moaning in pain, and we often became irritable because we lacked rest. So one day in desperation I beseeched Mother Rosario to help us. I put the stampita of Mother Rosario in the abdomen of Nanay and that very night, after some months of suffering, Nanay became quiet and was able to sleep well. The next day she became hungry and ate a good meal. She slowly gained strength and can now walk around the house with little help. Although still feeble because of her age, she lives a normal life. Mother Rosario is a miracle worker.

I am writing to thank all of you who prayed for me during my Nursing Board Examination last November 28, 2008. 1 encountered many difficulties along the way but Mother Rosario helped me during that time. My petition prayer to pass the board examination was answered and I am very happy when I saw that my rating was higher than I expected. My gratitude to everybody who prayed for me.

I came to the Beaterio de Molo in 1950 through the recommendation of Sister Ma. Paz Taleon, OP but it was in 1953 that I became a postulant. I had observed that Mother Rosario was very kind, charitable and caring not only to us all in the convent but to the people in the neighborhood. She assigned the helpers staying in the convent to distribute rice to the poor neighbors.
Mother Rosario was also very kind to animals. She took good care of the sick dogs in the convent. She assigned somebody to cook their food.
I have not encountered anybody like her, so generous loving and caring. I believe she is now in heaven.

I know Nanay Sayong since I was a small girl. She was very prayerful and holy. She had a great devotion to the holy rosary. Nanay Sayong was also very loving to the members of her family especially to the children.
During our elementary grades when we were studying at the Colegio de San Jose in Jaro, Iloilo City, she let her driver fetched us every Thursday and Saturday, our free day. When we arrived in the convent she first make us pray the rosary then give us food and let us play. She was very generous not only to her relatives but also to her poor neighbors. I believe Nanay Sayong is in heaven. May she continue to intercede for us to our Lord and our Blessed Mother.
