THE MOTHER ROSARIO BULLETIN 17
EDITORIAL
September is the month that plays a very significant role in the history of salvation because it is September 8 that the church set the date (or the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Had she not been born God would provide another lady but will she be humble and obedient like the Blessed Mother? She pronounced her fiat without any hesitation not even thinking of what would come ahead. Such is the faith of Mother Mary deep and trusting in the power and love of God. She was chosen among women because she was an epitome of true womanhood. God the Almighty has seen her innocence, her holiness, her obedience, her childlikeness and simplicity. Betrothed to Joseph yet she pronounced her fiat as her acceptance to the message of the angel. The birth of Mary is a blessing to the people of God.
Like Mary the birth of Mother Rosario is a blessing not only to the Dominicans of Molo but to all the people of God. Mother Rosario excelled in the love of God in the Blessed Sacrament. She also has a great devotion to the holy rosary. Having as its center the life of Christ she has given us example of continuous prayer. Mother Rosario has left to the congregation the holiness worthy of imitation. Her birth is a symbol of sanctity like all the saints. She too possessed other virtues, that are admirable and outstanding.

For the past 4 months the Dominican Sisters gathered in the Motherhouse for the monthly recollection and for a deeper reflection and study of the life of their Foundress, Mother Rosario. To many especially the young Sisters in the Congregation the gathering gave them a deeper knowledge of the life of the Foundress as the older Sisters shared the experience they had with Mother Sayong.
MOTHER ROSARIO'S RESPONSE
TO THE GOSPEL CHALLENGE
( by: Sr. Eleanor Garlito)
Reflecting on the Gospel demands for the month of September, we can single out a number of them which Mother Rosario responded positively and radically.:
Invitation to a life of Blessedness
Challenge to carry the cross and follow Jesus.
As we continue to unfold the pages of history on the life of Mother Rosario we come to know her bit by bit in the way she lived her life and how she responded to the challenges of the Gospel during her life as attested by witnesses.
The invitation and the promise of happiness as narrated in the Gospel of Luke 6:20, "Blessed are the poor, the kingdom of God is yours," deeply penetrated in the heart of Mother Rosario. And amidst great wealth and material possessions, luxury, comfort and ease, she gave up everything, chose and embraced a life of austere poverty. She then understood and appreciated the way of holiness through the practice of poverty. She willingly and courageously carried the cross of deprivation of the necessities of life and lived in utmost simplicity. She steadfastly and perseveringly followed the poor Christ, her Master and Saviour. "He who was rich became poor, so that by his poverty we might become rich.
