THE MOTHER ROSARIO BULLETIN 5

During the course of my work for the beatification of Mother Rosario, I often hear remarks such as “ what has this title mean or amount to” Before I discuss the answers to the above question, may I give the steps to canonization from the/ article in The Messenger of Divine Love by Father Sal Putzu, SVD, April to January 2008 issue.

There are four titles of honor that the Church confers on outstanding Catholics after they have died. From the lowest to the highest degree these titles are:

•  Servant of God
•  Venerable
•  Blessed
•  Saint

Such ascending titles of honor are conferred only after completion of a long and very demanding series of investigations on the life and writings of the person who has been “nominated” by some group of persons who feel that a certain outstanding cathoics is worthy to receive such an honor. This is something that resembles the conferment of the “ Honoris Causa” doctorate or a Nobel Prize or other prestigious awards on individuals who have excelled in a given area. The people who receive such prizes undergo a very strict selection.

Those who receive from the church authority the “Honorary Degrees or “Prizes” mentioned earlier have to undergo a much stricter selection, first at a local or diocesan level and then at the international level, i.e. in the Vatican. Special commissions of judges are appointed to examine the merits of each case or “nomination.”

THE MRAC JOURNEY
(Mother Rosario Arroyo Commission)

Dissemination of information on the life of Mother Rosario is going on. It can also be in the form of music as in the composition of Atty. Salvilla. This is the lyric of the final composition.

DULOT KAY MOTHER ROSARIO
Amay namon nga maloloy-on
Imo gintukod ang simbahan
Paagi sa sumulonod nga puno sang paghigugma
Amay namon salamat gid paagi kay Mother Rosario
Imo ginpakita imong paghigugma
Sa bilog nga kalibutan.

Amay namon ginbaton Mo alagad nga mga matutum
Sa pagtudlo, sa pagtuytuy sa imo nga mga tawo
Amay namon itib-ong Mo Imong anak Mother Rosario
Ang iyang pagsalig sa kay Jesukrisato
Aton tanan nga huaran.

Ref.

Mother Rosario ig-ampo mo kami
Sa amon balati-an sa lawas kag kalag
O Mother Rosario amon gina-ampo,
hatagan ka sang dungog kag himaya sa kalangitan.

We are thankful to Atty. Rex Salvilla for putting music into the prayer for Mother Rosario.

The Dominican Laity will be commissioned as promoters of the Cause of Mother Rosario on October 7, 2008.
Let us pray that Mother Rosario will soon be numbered among the Blessed Ones.

As a child my mother used to take me to visit Mother Rosario at the convent. I remember her as very pious, gentle but firm. My mother required me to dress properly when we visited her. I also remember going with my father to the convent because he was the congregation's physicain. Mother Rosario always encouraged me to pray the rosary. When I was a teenager Mother Rosario enrolled me in the Guardias de honor de Maria. She believed strongly in the power of prayer especially the rosary. In my conversation with her she emphasized to me the respect and obedience to my parents and dedication to my studies.

After my wedding, Hubert and I visited Mother Rosario. I left my wedding bouquet at the statue of the Blessed Mother. Mother Rosario gave us her blessing. We visited her again before we departed for the States. My general impression of her is that she is a very spiritual individual and has strong conviction and dedication to the goals of the congregation.

My first visit to the Beaterio de Molo was only to see the Sisters who were my friends. I did not have the intention of entering the convent because I was teaching at that time in the public school. I wanted first to help my younger sister who was studying in college. However, my first meeting with Mother Rosario was very impressive. I was captivated by her gentle manners, sweet voice and welcoming gestures. She was beautiful, friendly and motherly. At that moment I would like already to enter the convent to be like her. My father cried. His reason was I was not ready because I was thin and not healthy. When I was already a professed Sister I was asked to go to a very difficult mission in Caluya Island . I believed I survived that misión because of the prayers of Mother Rosario. She was very prayerful. I always saw her at the chapel praying. When we came back I learned from her that she prayed hard for us because only two of us survived in that difficult missión.

I believed that Mother Rosario is in heaven and I continue to pray fervently for her beatification.

Favors received:

I went home at midnight from my hospital duty. I was nervous to recall that I failed to double check the I.V. fluids we have followed up during our shift. I was bothered, worried and troubled when I realized that I have given more focus on the correct documentation in the patient's chart rather than on the names of the three I.V. fluids. Suddenly I remembered the pamphlet prayer for Mother Rosario that I got from the prayer room. I read and prayed 9 times using the pamphlet prayer for Mother Rosario. Upon reaching school the next day I was told the I.V. fluids given were correct. I obtained peace of mind.

Another thing happened to me. My wedding ring and my other ring were out of sight. I searched in my pocket, bag and everywhere but nowhere to be found. I texted my daughter to look for it at home . I was anxious but I kept on searching. I was already irritable with my students. This time I again started 9 consecutive hours reading and praying the pamphlet prayer for Mother Rosario. I went home at midnight and when I woke up in the morning I went to the kitchen and there I found my two rings.

Thank you Mother Rosario, OP. I treasured my wedding ring the most because it symbolizes our true love and happy marriage with my husband.

Many, many thanks. I love you Mother Rosario, OP and I will continuously pray for your speedy beatification.
